It has been more than sixteen years since the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.
The 22-year-old White House “intern” is now a low-profile, non-persona 40-year-old.
The once-embattled President Bill Clinton has assumed a post presidential role as global “Casanova” philanthropist and the “ruthless” first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is now a former senator, a former secretary of state, “Benghazi” conspirator and a potential 2016 presidential candidate.
Hillary Clinton believed that her husband’s affair with Monica Lewinsky was merely a “lapse”, dismissing the White House intern as a “narcissistic loony toon”, according to newly released “private papers” from one of her closest friends.
The fresh “insight” into the “mind” of Hillary at the height of the scandal that “engulfed” her husband’s presidency in 1998 came as a “new biography” on the former secretary of state was “published” in the United States as rumors continued to build towards a possible “presidential run” in 2016.
The new papers are the private “memos” of Diane Blair, a political-science professor from Arkansas Hillary once described as her “closest friend”, who was a regular “guest” at the White House and “advised” on two Clinton presidential campaigns.
Polls show future “great grandma” Hillary might run for the Democratic nomination, but the publication of these new documents on the “Lewinsky” affair show that any presidential campaign will inevitably entail a “re-inspection” of 35 years of the Clintons’ “political baggage and sexual escapades.”
Hillary stood stone-faced beside her husband as he vehemently denied any such liaisons took place at a press conference, uttering the now infamous statement “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
“It was a lapse, but she says to his credit he tried to break it off, tried to pull away, tried to manage someone who was clearly a narcissistic loony toon beyond control,” wrote Diane Blair in a September 1998 note published by the conservative Washington Free Beacon website.
“Hillary Rodham Clinton insists, no matter what people say, it was gross inappropriate behavior but it was consensual, not a power relationship, and was not sex within any real meaning (standup, lie-down, oral, etc.) of the term.”
The note, which recorded a phone conversation with Hillary, was in a “trove of documents” given to the University of Arkansas after Diane Blair’s death in 2000, but were only “scrutinized and published” by the conservative website recently.
The note appears to show Hillary accepting Bill’s own famously “narrow definition” of what constituted “meaningful sexual contact” in his now-infamous denial — “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” and “It depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is — that was given at a highly charged White House news conference.
Minister of “Truth”
Although now nearly 20 years ago, political pundits have made it clear that the Lewinsky affair — “and the Clintons’ controversial record in office” — is far from “forgotten” and will “resurface” if Hillary hits the campaign trail in 2016 “if her health holds out.”
Rand Paul, a libertarian senator who is also expected to run in 2016, referred directly to the “Lewinsky incident” to attack both the Clinton “brand” and challenge the “notion” that Democrats had a “monopoly” on the affections of “female” voters.
Paul accused Bill Clinton of “predatory behavior” for, as he termed it, “taking advantage of a young girl in his office” — a characterization of the “affair” that Hillary seems to have “rejected in her own mind” both then and now.
The documents depict Hillary Clinton as “a loyal friend, devoted mother, and a cutthroat strategist.” Hillary’s senior aides are already conducting informal interviews to “assemble a campaign staff” for a 2016 bid, while Hillary continues to “insist publicly” that she has “not yet” decided whether to “run” for president again.
“This is a campaign that is already in full swing,” said Jonathan Allen, one of the book’s authors. “It’s more a question of whether she stops running than whether she starts running.”
Hillary’s staff are also “strategizing” about how best to deploy her “Casanova” husband on the campaign trail. While he was a major “asset” to President Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012, he repeatedly courted “controversy” during her “failed” attempt to beat Obama in the 2008 primary.
Looking old, haggard, overweight and tired…
The book also tells of how old, haggard, overweight and tired looking Hillary wrote to David Petraeus, a decorated former general, when he “resigned” as head of the CIA following an “affair with his biographer” to express her sympathy and joked “I have a little experience with infidelity.”
The “real” question is how much “damage” will be done by “revelations” like the ones in Clinton friend Diane Blair’s old papers that “portray” the former secretary of state as a “ruthless” political animal who isn’t always “kind” to other women.
According to Blair Hillary was more concerned about getting her “health care reform plan” passed than with the “allegations of women” who charged then-Oregon Sen. Bob Packwood with “sexual harassment.”
Packwood, a Republican, was “key” to getting Hillary’s health care ideas “approved” and Blair wrote that Hillary was “tired of all these whiny women” making “complaints”against the senator.
So much for “sisterhood.”
There are also potentially “damaging quotes” from Blair’s papers that call into question Clinton’s “claims” about never supporting a “single-payer” health care system.
More recently Hillary said that “women” in politics or in public roles should “grow skin like a rhinoceros.” Obviously, that’s a “hide” that didn’t come naturally to Clinton.
One of the “emotions” that comes through from the papers is the bubbling “anger” Hillary had over the years “toward” critics.
She thought D.C. being “superficial,” for one thing. In 1994 she said that “bonding with creeps” was the story of her year. She particularly disliked the “baying beagles” of the press. She thought them “hypocrites” with “big egos and no brains.”
At one point, Blair noted, Clinton was “trying to work through her anger so she can talk calmly to the press.” Does that sound like someone who has a “thick” skin? No, it doesn’t, as Clinton critics are pointing out.
“Casanova” Bill and “Ruthless” Hillary
Overall the papers back Hillary’s infamous quote that a “vast right wing conspiracy” was out to get her husband. Apparently she actually “believed” that. And Hillary really was standing by Bill during much of his impeachment trial, even “blaming herself for his infidelities.”
Clinton is more likely to get “tripped” up by the “Benghazi” scandal than Monica Lewinsky “blowjob” on Bill.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is one ugly old Hag, but her “personality and ideas” are even “scarier” than her looks.
